Job Description

Responsible for field material support of project materials.  Single Point of Contact between COPA slope material personnel, construction contractor and Anchorage Capital project team on all material status.  Provide continuous insight into material status to support construction in field.  Field Material Coordinator may also perform a variety of other functions as required to support procurement activities for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

General

  • Demonstrate active and visible support for Incident-Free Culture (IFC) principles.
  • Support the Human Performance principles and becoming a better Learning Organization by understanding/learning from the employees who conduct the work.
  • Ensure all files, information, e-mail, etc. comply with COPA document and records management (DRM) policy.

HSE

  • Perform jobsite walk-downs during jobsite visits.
  • Participate in Contractor toolbox and weekly safety meetings when on site.
  • Review Contractor Task Hazard Analysis (THA)/Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Job Hazard Analysis during jobsite visits.
  • Perform safe performance recognitions during jobsite visits

 

Risk Management

  • Participate in the identification of risks to project success, and the development of mitigation/avoidance measures.

 

Materials and Logistics

  • Monitor and report project material status.
  • Monitor and report project material movement (logistics) information.
  • Assist in the resolution of material procurement, logistics, expediting, and availability issues, as assigned.
  • Assist in the receipting/receiving of materials, as required. (Perform Goods Receipting SAP for non-slope materials)
  • Assist in the resolution and direction for procurement of material shortages and damaged material issues.
  • Assist in the disposition and/or disposal of surplus or salvaged project materials.
  • Assist in the interface between Construction contractors, COP Warehouse and engineering/procurement material personnel.
  • Assist in the development and review of Contractor Readiness documents regarding materials and logistics.
  • Participate in the weekly Materials meeting which focuses on tracking the engineering deliverables are being met to support procurement activities that in turn will support the project procurement schedule.
  • Participate in Project Close-out procurement activities.
  • Participate in Project Lessons Learned review session(s).
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant interfaces and communications channels.
  • Develop and provide accurate and timely work product for the BP Core Project Program.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, procurement and document control

 

 

ROLE SPECIFIC:

System Knowledge and Communication

  • Display Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP/ GEP modules preferred.
  • Provide guidance to continually improve training methods delivered by the local teams to projects.
  • Superior communication and problem-solving skills to include developing recovery plans in the face of logistical issues.

Qualifications

 

  • Associate degree or equivalent qualification/experience in procurement.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience material management.
  • Excellent customer service experience required.
  • Leadership and communication skills and an understanding of the need for customer focus in a project driven environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be Proficient in MS Word; MS Excel.   Preferred at least 1+ years in the use and understanding of SmartPlant Materials Software.  Experience with SharePoint a plus.
